Fishtail Ranch

Fishtail Ranch specializes in fair chase elk hunts on private ranch land in Unit 4 of northern New Mexico near Chama — one of New Mexico’s highest-success elk units. Because hunts are on private land, guaranteed licenses are available with no draw required. The Chama Valley hosts a large resident elk herd and serves as a major migration corridor, keeping populations consistently high through the season. All hunts are conducted spot-and-stalk: hunters are driven to glassing positions in 4×4 pickups, then continue on foot with guides who live in the Chama area year-round.
